While They Rage and Drown in Blood, Glory to the Victors
Blog Post 73
January 21, 2025
Since that date in October 2023, over 15 months ago, the zionist state of Israel, with its faithful backer – the US – and other supporters, unleashed an unrelenting bombardment of death and destruction against the Palestinian people, especially in Gaza, and the Lebanese people, as well as attacks in Syria and Yemen. Nineteen days after the new year of 2025, a temporary ceasefire, the second in all that time, began with the zionist state’s demented dictator making it clear it’s temporary and they’re still obsessed with destroying Hamas, while the US, and others, are chewing at the bit to make that happen.
It's been a devastating and horrific time for all of us. But our aching does not even come close to that of the people of Palestine and Lebanon, Iran and Yemen, and others like Syria who are directly in the crosshairs of the murderous madmen and madwomen who are bent on wiping out the light of Islam in the holy lands and indeed all around the world. The shahadah of one soul weighs heavy and we are assured by Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala that they are enjoying Paradise for they are not dead, but alive, near Him, rejoicing. The murder of one innocent soul is like killing the whole world. And while the mujahideen who have gained shahadah and have names, the innocent children, women and men are often left nameless to us, but they have names and have been blessed with shahadah as well. Al-Hamdulillah. Here is a video you can watch that memorializes the shaheeds in Palestine by providing their names @ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=poHGZW-mg_M
There are some lists of the mujahidden from Palestine, Lebanon and Iran online. But while they list the shaheeds only since that October 2023 date, thousands upon thousands have met the same goal since the zionist entity began its treacherous foray to set up their cancerous state. The recitation of Surah al-Fatihah is always welcome as we remember the shaheeds and their devotion to Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala and Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, their love of Islam and exemplary bravery against the enemy. They lived a magnificent life and gave the ultimate sacrifice.
Palestinian Shaheeds – Ali Al-Qadhi, Murad Abu Murad, Bilal Al-Kedra, Ibrahim Biari, Saleh al-Arouri, Marwan Issa, Hazem Haniyeh, Amir Haniyeh, Muhammad Haniyeh, Ghazi Abu Tama’a, Rafa Salama, Zahr Abdel Salam Haniyeh, Nahed Haniyeh Abu Ghazi, Iman Haniyeh Umm Ghazi, Ismail Nahed Haniyeh, Muhammad Nahed Haniyeh, Moamen Nahed Haniyeh, Zahra Nahed Haniyeh, Amal Nahed Haniyeh, Shahad Nahed Haniyeh, Sumaya Nahed Haniyeh, Ismail Haniyeh, Wassim Abu Shaaban, Fatah Sharif, Mahmoud Hamdan, Yahya Sinwar (“List of Israeli assassinations," Wikipedia; “Saleh al-Arouri,” Wikipedia; “Israeli forces kill three children of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Gaza,” April 10, 2024, Al Jazeera; “Israel kills 3 sons of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh in Gaza,” April 11, 2024, Press TV; Goldenberg, T., Chehayeb, K. and Shurafa, W., April 10, 2024, “An Israeli airstrike in Gaza kills 3 sons and 4 grandchildren of Hamas’ top leader.” Halifax City News; “Israeli air strike kills 10 family members of Hamas chief Haniyeh in Gaza,” June 25, 2024, Al Jazeera; “Assassination of Ismail Haniyeh,” Wikipedia; “Yahya Sinwar,” Wikipedia; “Killing of Yahya Sinwar,” Wikipedia; “How Hamas leader Sinwar was killed: an AK-47, a tactical vest, and who was with him,” Oct. 17, 2024, Turkiye Today)

We have to also add Qasem Soleimani, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, Hossein Pourjafari, Shahroud Mozafarinia, Hadi Taremi, Vahid Zamanian, Muhammed Reza al-Jaberi, Mohammad al-Shibani, Hassan Abdul Hadi and Heydar Ali, who were assassinated on the orders of the 45th/47th US president on January 3, 2020 outside of the Baghdad, Iraq airport. (“Assassination of Qasem Soleimani,” Wikipedia) Also, we must include the at least 42 shaheeds, the majority of whom were Hizbullah mujahideen, including at least 12 civilians, along with 1,500 Hizbullah mujahideen and 4,000 civilians who were injured, by the zionist state’s booby-trapped exploding pagers and walkie-talkies in Lebanon on September 17 and 18, 2024. (“2024 Lebanon electronic device attacks,” Wikipedia) As well, there are many more shaheeds who have been killed by the zionist state in Syria as reported by SOHR (Syrian Observatory for Human Rights) on April 2, 2024 (SOHR, April 2, 2024, “Death toll update,”Syriahr.com; SOHR, April 3, 2024, “Death toll update,” Syriahr.com) Plus, there are many shaheeds, mostly civilians, who have been killed by the zionist state and several countries in Yemen. (“One killed, several injured in joint US, UK, Israeli airstrikes on Yemen,” Jan. 11, 2025, Press TV; “Israeli Forces Continue to Strike Civilian Infrastructure in Yemen,” Jan. 16, 2025; “2024 missile strikes in Yemen,” Wikipedia)
As of January 19, 2025, at least 46,913 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since that day in October 2023. Thousands of Palestinians in Gaza are buried under the rubble from the bombardment of their homes and buildings. Thousands of Palestinians in Gaza are threatened by illness, lack of medication and medical care. There are at least 17,492 Palestinian children in Gaza killed; at least 110,750 Palestinian people in Gaza injured; more than 11,160 Palestinian people in Gaza missing. Also in the West Bank, there are at least 858 Palestinian people killed; at least 175 Palestinian children killed; more than 6,700 Palestinian people injured.
The near-total destruction of Gaza has turned the landscape into an apocalyptic scene carried out on purpose with one terrorizing goal in mind: the annihilation of Muslims and razing everything to the ground. As of January 15, 2025, the people of Gaza have suffered the destruction and damage of: almost all of their homes; 88% of schools; 80% of commercial facilities; 50% of healthcare facilities are partially functional; 68% of roads; 68% of cropland. Over here, during this long and painful genocide that we have witnessed, emotions have ranged back and forth from sadness, anger, the blues, hope, faith, power, certainty. At times, we didn’t fully understand what was happening and what we should do. We prayed and read the Holy Qur’an and talked together. We sought out others who know and believe as we do for upliftment, steadfastness on the path of Islam, comfort and knowledge, while all the time taking ourselves to Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala first and foremost. Besides being on the streets, protesting, demonstrating, shouting and praying, we also boycotted products and businesses and made donations. In April, we published Voices in Solidarity with the People of Gaza, a collection of 39 Muslim writers and artists who are expressing their alignment with the struggle of the Palestinians and with all the oppressed people of the world. ( See Voices in Solidarity ) We attended a Muharram program for 10 nights in Toronto that focused on Gaza. It was arranged by a group of brothers and sisters who had decades ago come together – Sunnis and Shias – in a unification of belief in Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala and action in His Way. The commemoration of the shahadah of Imam Husayn, his family and followers, peace and blessings be upon them all, incorporated a different speaker from varied backgrounds and set of skills, experiences and behaviours, all telling us the truth of what’s going on – the long-term plan the enemies of Islam have plotted, which Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala has told us about in the Holy Qur’an – and what we can do. We made a few appointments for private conversations with ulama and scholars to discuss the ins and outs and to gain more calming, hopeful insight and emotional ease. We attended a seminar in Toronto organized by a local alim and his students that was very uplifting and clearly set our minds and hearts on the path toward victory here and in the Hereafter. The turnout appeared to be about 500 Muslims from all walks of life, from all corners of the huge metropolitan area, a somber affair full of wisdom and Islamic inspiration. At the end of December, we were back selling Inked Resistance Islamic Publishing’s books, bookmarks and tapestries at an annual weekend conference. The ulama and other speakers and the participants are always focused on Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala, Prophet Muhammad and his family’s divinely-ordained message, peace and blessings be upon them all, the facts on the ground, the plots and plans of the enemy, the righteous leadership among us, Allah’s promises to the believers, and our keeping on the straight way moving forward toward success. It is always a blessing to be among the believers and to see and talk with old friends. Al-Hamdulillah. And of course, we always tried to get the correct news from the reliable sources, such as from Press TV, Al-Manar and more recently TMJ (The Muslim Journal News Network).
I have come to the conclusion that if you’re not talking about the genocide of the people of Gaza, if your heart is unfeeling, if you’re giving your time and money to the enemies of Islam, if you’re trying to convert people to the other side or any side that’s not the Islamic side, if you’re oblivious to the games that are being played, if you’re voting for propped-up criminals, if you believe those who mix truth and falsehood, if you can’t identify the leaders of Islam, if you’re not on a daily path of correcting your illogical thinking and mistakes such as not being nice to the believers…. then, I’m not someone you need. Or to put it plainly, I don’t need to listen to what you’re talking or not talking about. That is not to say, of course, that I have it all together and that I don’t make mistakes. But I don’t have the patience to discuss your beliefs and your practices and your activities and your worldview if you do not at least feel anything, a bit of sadness even, about the genocide you’ve witnessed for over 15 months, and at least offer a sensible word or two about it.
This stems from the experiences I’ve had with a few people – mostly Pentecostal, maybe a Jehovah’s Witness and a Seventh Day Adventist. If you, dear readers, don’t know anything at all about Pentecostal people, you should know this: they pray for our destruction because they support the zionist state, not so much because they like them, but because they believe in their heart of hearts that the zionist state has to be defeated so that Prophet Isa, peace be upon him, will return and set things right for them! How does supporting the zionist state cause it to be defeated? That’s a question you should think about yourself. So since the Pentecostal people haven’t called or emailed me to meet up to let me know or to at least mention in their phone message or email that they’re sad about what’s happening to MY PEOPLE, I’m done with them. I mean it’s a genocide! They just want to talk about regular stuff, never about what’s happening, and one of them even asked if we believe our Allah can heal us! Talking about Prophet Isa is the son of God, astagfir Allah, non-stop is, well, it’s unnecessary. We already know what they believe and how it feels good to them and that they’re the only ones who are saved, etc., etc., etc. The person, who’s maybe a Jehovah’s Witness, invariably wants to run-down Islam, and therefore us, with questions about old stuff like stoning. And concerning the Seventh Day Adventist, all that person wants to talk about is Nebuchadnezzar, Saturday’s the sabbath, that Prophet Isa, peace be upon him, is God, astagfir Allah, and the latest tidbit that Prophet Isa spoke to Prophet Musa from the burning bush, peace be upon them both, astagfir Allah. What they should do is read the Holy Qur’an, but they can’t cause they’re scared to.
We have never been argumentative to our non-Muslim families, coworkers, neighbours, etc. about their religion and what they believe. Who are we to judge them? We have never been argumentative to our Muslim family, friends, coworkers, neighbours, etc., about their madhhab and what they believe. Why be disunited when the enemy is trying to murder us? We have always been as kind as we can be. In fact, when we visited my sister during Christmastime, we went together to the Moravian church which my mother had been a member of as a teenager into her young adulthood for their Christmas Eve love feast. After all, it is Prophet Isa’s birthday, peace be upon him, as they believe.
The other side is the Muslims. We’re not interested in arguing about what the Muslims are doing right or wrong. We follow our leader and put our trust in Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala. It’s all a smokescreen – talking about Muslims’ mistakes, talking about what they should be doing. Because in the end, what are you doing? And do you even have a leader? Arguing is not productive. So if you’re not interested in calm discussions, leave us out or as they say “miss us with that,” or whatever.
Also, Muslims need to read more, be informed and certain about what they’re talking/arguing about. It’s true that people, including Muslims, including spiritual and active Muslims, are losing their ability to read. Their attention spans have been destroyed, by the cellphones, most likely. They can’t read more than three pages and some people can’t read even one paragraph. Their phones are beeping and tinging and they’re on them like it’s gonna run away and hide from them. But this is another blog post for another day, inshallah.
I’ve, for one, drawn my line. If you gloat over or ignore the merciless killing of innocent Muslims and the near-total wipeout of the Islamic movement anywhere in the world, then you’re not worth my time because you’re on the side of the enemies of Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala and you’re at war with Him. We’re done with walking among their satisfied smiles, seeing us as the losers, downcast and defeated. Isn’t that the way they’ve always been? Seeing Native Peoples like that? Seeing Black Peoples like that? That’s how they see us. And we see them too. We know who the losers are. We know who the winners are too.
“O you who believe! Do not take as intimates from other than yourselves.
They will not spare you any ruin. They wish what distresses you.
Indeed, the hatred from their mouths has become apparent
and what their breasts conceal is greater.
Certainly, We made the signs clear for you if you use reason.
Lo! You are those who love them, but they do not love you,
and you believe in the Book – all of it.
And when you meet them, they say, ‘We believe.’
And when they are alone, they bite their fingertips at you out of rage.
Say, ‘Die in your rage. Indeed, Allah is All-Knowing of what is in the breasts.’
If a good touches you, it grieves them,
and if a misfortune strikes you, they rejoice at it.
And if you are patient and fear Allah, their plot will not harm you in anything.
Indeed, Allah is All-Encompassing of what they do.”
The Holy Qur’an: 3:118-120
(See also 3:166-179)
We will not lose heart, inshallah. Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala is our Protector “and on Allah let the believers put their trust.” (3:122) Allah can send down thousands of angels to reinforce us, inshallah. (3:124-125) Allah sends us good news and reassures our hearts with it. (3:126) “There is no victory except from Allah, The All-Mighty, The All-Wise.” (3:126) We hope that the good news the shaheeds receive about those left behind who will follow them are us, inshallah.
Remember in every battle against unrighteousness, against those who wish to extinguish the light of Allah (61:8), astagfir Allah, against the shaitans, a’udhubillah, Allah’s Help is there and yet there are shaheeds, sometimes a few, sometimes thousands, sometimes the leaders, the great mujahideen, sometimes the innocent children, women and men. That is the outcome, the sweet outcome, of shahadah in the Way of Allah.

Note: There’s so much more we could talk about – the number of prisoners of war released and the number of Palestinian prisoners released by the zionist state; the “acts of God”, such as the torrential hurricane and tornados and flooding that hit parts of the Caribbean, the southeast US, the Appalachian Mountains in NC, TN, VA, WVA and across the US into Canada and across to Atlantic Canada; the catastrophic wildfires in CA and all over the US and Canada; the inauguration yesterday…
